lucky 13…

so here we are a week into the new year and i’m putting up my end of year thoughts and wishes for the new year along with some snippets of the past year…i’ve heard quite a bit of trepidation from people about going into a year which includes the number 13…well as many of you can attest the year just passed with the even number was one of the hardest for many in recent history and like every year also had it’s moments of joy & abundance and triumph…and like the others, love…we saw the absolute best of people who pulled together during an unprecedented disaster and help friends and neighbors & strangers alike and the worst of humanity with an increase in violence in our country which ended the lives of the smallest of innocents…there were many personal & professional stresses and triumphs and i always like to keep in mind that everything is relative and that there is someone out there that always has it a bit worse and that as my mother used to say, “this too shall pass”…it always does…as i have every year, i would like to express my unending gratitude for all of the outstanding people in my life, family and friends & my buddy dog who remain constant, my always amazing clients whose love stories inspire me everyday & to all of the incredible artists from photographers, florists, videographers, bands, djs, makeup & hair, assistants, wedding planners…i learn so much from all of you and thank you all for sharing your talent…

moving forward, i choose to believe that 2013 will be the best year yet for everyone…the new year brings hope…it brings with it the opportunity for change…for all of us to do better, be kinder, give more & share more & to LOVE more…  peace xoxo

here are just a few from the year…many of these locations were badly damaged or destroyed during the storm which make them even more special…happy new year everyone:)

i still can’t believe that i’m posting for 2012 and it is the new year already!  i am finally posting this shoot i did for flowerful events of their architectural centerpieces…the designs are so different and show the inventive ways that owners/designers, kristina & michael, come up with to incorporate silks into sculptural pieces…take a look!

there is no greater honor than being asked to photograph a wedding for a colleague whose work you adore and whose family you have come to love…it was a joy spending christmas weekend and the last wedding of the season with my dear friends, bonnie & carmen, documenting their daughter stacey’s marriage to her love, andy…stacey & andy are truly perfect for each other and their love and laughter and families and friends warmed the otherwise FREEZING cold day!…denise vacchiano & jeanine mangan did their usual amazing job with hair and makeup and it was so much fun sharing in all the excitement at the house…after their lovely ceremony at st. jerome’s church in west long branch, we headed to asbury park and convention hall where the absolutely most perfect christmas tree stood waiting to greet all of us in matching colors and christmas spirit…we then headed to mainstreet, a favorite local haunt of the couple, where bartender, jamie, had signature cocktails ready to toast the happy couple…the room at windows on the water, looked incredible with holiday details wherever you looked provided by christine foster & bonnie cappuzzello of petal beach who naturally created all of the gorgeous florals, megan holland stoop, whose invitations were by far the most gorgeous wedding invitations i have seen and larry meluso & pete cruz who set the room up just perfectly and kept the guests amazed with the service and outstanding food…musician and good friend bruce foster,  (husband of chris, bonnie’s partner) provided the music for cocktail hour and the couple’s first dance and nice cavaleri did an incredible job of entertaining everyone ..the cake provided by ye olde pie shoppe was beautiful with the simple snowflake design and it tasted even better!  take a peek…
