even after all of these years, i still find moments during a wedding that will bring tears…being the mother of boys, it is typically during the mother/son dance but other times because i have a personal involvement with the family…i have known brittany since she was a little girl…our families have been friends for over twenty years so i was so humbled when brittany wanted me to photograph her big day….it is always a bit more stressful when you have a job to do for people you care about but i found myself very relaxed the day of brittany & chris’s wedding…i was already familiar with chris’s family having photographed his brother and best man, greg’s wedding to his wife, nicole, in may, so it really did feel like family all around…i could not have been happier for the blue skies outside the morning of their wedding although the temperature had drastically turned quite a bit colder than it had been in the weeks leading up to it…amy marie did a beautiful job keeping brittany looking like the natural beauty she is…the flowers from petal beach were gorgeous with all the warm colors of fall…there was a moment when i looked up at brittany holding onto her dad, bill’s arm moments before he led her to the next important man in her life when i flashed very quickly on brittany in a bee costume i had lent her one halloween when she was little and the tears came…only this time from a place of knowing everything that came before this moment in the church and i felt so incredibly blessed to be doing what i do and to have moments like that in my life and in my work…after the ceremony at st. michael’s in west end, we headed to asbury park where because chris and his family essentially have keys to the boardwalk, i was able to take some lovely photos in the carousel and then an overhead photograph of the bridal party walking down the boardwalk…we then headed to the beautiful windows on the water in sea bright where we spent about 5 minutes on the beach as the sand was like ice at this point and brittany and i had no shoes on and that was just about all we could bear…bruce foster worked his keyboard magic for cocktail hour and nick cavaliere from imagine did what he always does best, keeping everyone on the dancefloor…special thanks to nicole from anna soiree who designed the invitations, programs and place cards as well as keeping things running smoothly the day of…and it was great seeing mr. and mrs. wishart as guests having photographed their daughter, laura’s wedding the week prior!  congratulations brittany & chris, cindy & bill and cindy & george…

ashley & mike had a beautiful day for their wedding which started at star of the sea church followed by photographs at monmouth university and a jam packed reception at sterling ballroom…ashley’s flowers provided by flowerful events were gorgeous…ashley looked beautiful in her demetrios gown and seychelle shoes and she did a fantastic job on the invitations she created herself!  the big house band provided the entertainment for the night…additional credits:  love lane tuxedos, bill levkoff bridesmaids dresses, chocolate carousel, a class limousine

laura & mike had a warm, gorgeous night at the beach for their ceremony…this couple is anything but conventional as you can see by their details and by the song they chose to exit their ceremony to:  madonna’s “like a virgin” …hysterical…they were very carefree and easy going and the day was a breeze…i loved, loved laura’s handmade button bouquets…she made her own bouquet out of buttons her grandfather collected and they were so beautiful and sentimental…nick cavaliere from imagine entertainment did his usual great job of keeping everyone dancing and entertained and the night was topped off by laura’s favorite ralph’s italian ices…

laura & kiernan definitely had more than the luck of the irish on their wedding day…they had an amazing group of family and friends, incredible vendors such as jeanine magnan who did a lovely job with laura’s makeup, peter james who outdid himself with the bouquets and tablescapes and the always fantastic, brian kirk & the jirks, who graciously shared his mike with laura’s harmonica playing dad, bill, at the gorgeous spring lake golf club…bill got quite the kick out of documenting my every move and sharing his captures with me throughout the day…it was wonderful seeing bill and his lovely wife, judy, yesterday as guests attending another one of my weddings and getting to know them better…although the day started out cloudy and wet, it stopped just after their ceremony at st. rose with enough time to take some great photos on the boardwalk in avon followed by a stop at darcy’s tavern and then on to spring lake golf club….the room glowed with all the warm fall colors and was filled to the brim with so much love and laughter and dancing that i almost forgot i was working…thank you laura & kiernan for letting us spend the day with all of you…you feel like old friends now…

sometimes i have such a great time with a couple that i forget i’m working and not just hanging out with friends…such is the case with carly & mike…mike is SO tall and carly is sweetly petite (tiny!) even with the red patent leather heels she wore for the session…the light was glorious and the sky took on the soft hues of baby blue and pink…i so enjoyed learning about both of them and laughing with them and i can’t wait to photograph their special day next march at clark’s landing!  here’s a peak…
