in a couple of weeks (september 13th to be exact) it will be 9 years since i photographed steve & michelle’s beachside wedding at driftwood…all of michelle’s colleagues at eyewitness news where she is an anchor were talking about hurricane isabelle hitting the east coast and while it was a more than a bit windy, her dream of getting married on the beach went off without a hitch…since then, our relationship has blossomed into a real friendship…not only do i get to see them on my rare days off but they have allowed me to document all of the wonderful moments in their lives…from michelle’s pregnancy to their first family session with their daughter, isabelle, named after that hurricane, followed by their son, jack, who is so full of personality and everything in between since then…now when we do our sessions, it is not work at all, just a good time spent with good friends…usually followed by (depending on the time of day) pancakes or cocktails…

Jeri, These pictures make me fall in love with you all over again. You have such an amazing storytelling eye. I keep showing these pictures to my Emmy award-winning photographer friends at Channel 7… and they are BLOWN AWAY. As I write I know you are super humble and brushing this off… but you should change your email handle. Instead of “is it okay?” I would go with “this rocks the hizzie.” I hope this posts!! I left another message right after you shared these… but didn’t see it register.. Anyhow, I adore the shots and am so lucky you have shot everything from my wedding to now!!!!! To anyone reading this blog and kicking around the idea of hiring Houseworth… kick no more. HIRE HER!!!!!!! ūüôā You will not be sorry. And thank you, Jeri. xoxo

Aw…thank you for coming back and for your amazing words…I can’t wait for our next session!xo

ashley & mike

this couple was so relaxed with me and with each other and we had a bit of fun together down in asbury for a session before their upcoming wedding…there was a gorgeous breeze and when the sun set, i was enjoying my time with them so much, i suggested they have some ice cream at the newly opened days…i have to say it took everything in me not to order a salted caramel with truffles (an absolute must try) but i had such a great time watching them share theirs that it ALMOST took the edge off…

anyone who knows me will tell you that i embarrass easily and am not one to get overly excited by accolades, et al…my first publication which came out 6 months after i started my business and which i thought was going to be a half page article turned out to be the cover and a two page spread…this prompted me to not answer my phone for two weeks and hide from pretty much everyone because i did not feel worthy…i tend to shy away from that kind of attention…which is why when they notified me today that grace ormonde wedding style had chosen my studio as photographer of the week i felt exactly as i did almost 18 years ago…but at this point in my career that feeling also comes with a tremendous amount of pride and gratitude…gratitude for all those who guided, helped and assisted me over the years and for those who have trusted me with their special day and then some and those who have been kind enough to notice a little fish in a big pond…thank you grace ormonde wedding style for the excitement you brought to my day!

jenny & tim

jenny & tim had a glorious day which started at the home jenny’s father grew up in and sits on the banks of the navesink river…i can only imagine how special this must have been for jenny & her family…her groom, tim, is from across the pond and it was so delightful seeing how these two families incorporated america and england into their day…i especially loved how both the american flag and the british flag were flying over their ceremony and were also on their wedding cake provided by joy & cake…jenny and tim saw each other for the first time on the back porch of the house and then it was non stop children and family and neighbors and pictures and fun!¬† when we finished with photos, we headed over to one of my favorite places to work, rumson country club (thank you for everything cindy!) where jenny & tim were married on the small beach overlooking the river followed by a full night of dancing, provided by the A band, and laughter and joy…
